What is the BYOV Program?

BYOV (Bring Your Own Vehicle) is for TLC drivers who already own or operate their TLC-registered vehicle. Instead of buying or leasing through LimeCars, you keep your vehicle and join our dispatch network.

You gain access to guaranteed work schedules, priority Access-A-Ride (AAR) dispatch for WAV vehicles, and the operational support of the LimeCars network — while maintaining full ownership of your vehicle and maximizing your net income.

WAV-equipped BYOV drivers earn $850/day on Access-A-Ride routes. Standard vehicles earn $650/day on Uber, Lyft, and Via. Since you own your vehicle and have no lease payments, your take-home is substantially higher than drivers in acquisition programs.

BYOV Vehicle Requirements

To join the BYOV program, your vehicle and license must meet these NYC TLC and LimeCars standards.

Valid NYC TLC FHV license (active, not suspended)
TLC-registered vehicle (must meet NYC TLC standards)
Clean driving record (no major violations in 36 months)
Valid TLC commercial insurance (proof required)
Passed NYC TLC vehicle inspection within 12 months
Valid DMV driver license (NY, NJ, or CT)
No outstanding TLC violations or fines
Smartphone with data plan for dispatch app

Submit Application

Fill out our BYOV application online or call us. We'll confirm your vehicle's eligibility within 24 hours.

Vehicle Inspection

Your vehicle undergoes a TLC compliance inspection. Our team guides you through the checklist so you pass on the first attempt.

Platform Onboarding

We set up your driver profile on CTG's dispatch platform. This includes AAR priority dispatch, Uber/Lyft profile verification, and insurance documentation.

04

Start Earning

Accept your first AAR trip within 24–48 hours of onboarding completion. Priority dispatch means more trips, higher earnings.
